On this Easter Sabbath, I will resist the urge to wax eloquent (for two hours) on the true meaning of Easter, and will admit to missing the baskets of candy just a little bit.
We had a wonderful (though quiet) Easter celebration. On Thursday evening, we visited each of our neighbors and invited them to our Easter Sacrament Meeting. It was great to talk to them, but alas, none of them chose to join us.
We enjoyed two remarkable talks -- Dori Leder on following Christ, and Carl Mead on the Atonement and Resurrection. We're sorry you missed it.
You will definitely be sorry to hear that you also missed our Easter meals -- fruit & creme-filled crepes for lunch, and the ever-popular chicken rolls for dinner! Luckieee!
OK, I just HAVE to say SOMETHING about what is really important...
Because of the events we celebrate this day, I have a hope of sharing eternity with a certain "Kimi" in the attached photo. (After 19 years living here, we finally visited the Portland Japanese Gardens yesterday)
And, of course, I also have a hope of sharing eternity with four little cuties (as well as their spouses and their cuties, present and future!)
Mom made this collage in 1997, and found it for this post from us this wonderful day!

Hey...we had chicken rolls for dinner tonight too! What a coincidence. Although I can't say for sure if that was a tradition when I lived at home. It's been so long.
Thanks for being such good examples of how to live empty-nester life. I'm glad you two still enjoy being together and doing fun things.
